Group welcome and introductions, followed by a current state debrief of the fictitious company used to teach agility techniques and practices throughout the day.
Participants learn how to define business outcomes, facilitate a solution brainstorming session, and prioritize brainstorming output in the “top of the house” activities for our fictitious company.
Participants learn how to setup and manage a solution kanban board that visualizes all work that needs to be complete to build a successful solution for our fictitious company. Participants also complete a scope mapping exercise that continues to decompose solution initiatives into smaller pieces to eventually be consumed by solution development teams.
Digital transformation requires leaders to think and act differently. Leaders who historically operated in a top down, “command and control” environment will need to rethink their leadership style to adjust and lead their teams in a digital transformation. Information on the needed mindset shift and “the new ways of leadership practices” are examined and discussed in this section.
Participants learn how to establish, nurture, and run Communities of Practice sessions to provide an open forum for everyone to discuss ideas and lessons learned during our fictitious company’s digital transformation.
Topics include grooming and refining a product backlog, story mapping, and incremental solution development and delivery. The advantages of DevOps toolsets and practices will also be briefly discussed.
Participants learn how to setup and facilitate a Big Room Planning session that helps drive coordination and cadence across all roles and teams in our fictitious company.
